GRIDNET Core software now available for download!

Great things are upon us!

The GRIDNET Core software has just been made available for download and is available for immediate install on any Microsoft Windows machine!

Download URL: https://gridnet.org/GRIDNETCore.zip

Instruction:

  1. Download (hell yeah!)
  2. Unzip it
  3. Launch ‘Setup.exe’ or the MSI file, whichever you prefer
  4. The ⋮⋮⋮ Installer would take you by hand through everything
  5. Launch ⋮⋮⋮ Core! (shortcut should be on your Desktop/Start Menu apps already)

Below, I’ll just copy paste the Readme file which is shown to you on the second step of the installation process (worth a read):

Operator! We do understand you cannot wait to get your ⋮⋮⋮ GRIDNET Core node up and running!

Yet still, - kindly do take a moment to familiarize yourself with the following prerequisites. That is so to ensure that your ⋮⋮⋮ N ode is fully operational once the installation process is finished.

[Auto-Update]:

The current release does NOT board automatic-update. Thus, Operator! Make sure that you’re running latest version at all times. That is of paramount importance to ensure your node properly participates in the decentralized consensus.

[After Installation]:

⋮⋮⋮ GRIDNET Core software was designed to be fully autonomous. By default, one only needs to launch the executable. That’s it.

Your wallet would be generated, GPUs detected, your ⋮⋮⋮ N ode would begin peer’s discovery, with an attempt to synchronize with the decentralized network of ⋮⋮⋮ Nodes. Soon enough your very own ⋮⋮⋮ N ode would begin mining GRIDNET Coins soon enough all by itself.

(…) The fans would begin spinning (…)

Indeed, by default, all of the sub-systems would self-initialize.

From now on, your node participates in the global web-anonymization network. Whenever someone launches the ⋮⋮⋮ Decentralized User Interface (even when accessing through the official URL at https://test.gridnet.org !), your node might be the one providing computational and bandwidth resources. That is because each node injects IP addresses of nodes it managed to discover. Single UI session might be handled by multiple computers (including yours).

In any case, for everything you are rewarded!

⋮⋮⋮ GRIDNET Core software boards an autonomous, internal firewall, among other things. It is capable of autonomously detecting all of your computational devices, CPUs, GPUs etc. For this, it relies on OpenCL.

Operator, you might want to make sure to have the latest NVIDIA / AMD drivers installed.

Should there by anything wrong with your setup, ⋮⋮⋮ GRIDNET Core would report accordingly.

[Networking]:

⋮⋮⋮ GRIDNET Core requires the following network ports to be enabled.

[TCP]:

80 - Decentralized User Interface
443 - Decentralized User Interface (TLS)
444 - Decentralized Web 6.9 Anonymization Services
26038 - Peers’ Discovery
8000-8001 - Web-Socket based communication
22 - Decentralized Terminal Services (over SSH)

[UDP]

25121 - communication between peers (full-nodes, mobile devices etc.)

Notice: If, you are behind NAT, make sure these ports are routed.

[Troubleshooting]

While the Software was designed to be easy to deploy, sometimes more configuration might be needed. As a member of the Wizardous Family (…) as a highly respected ⋮⋮⋮ Operator (…) a true freedom-fighter down to the Core, you are entitled to a Life-Time support available over at https://talk.gridnet.org. Whatever the issue, expect at least an initial response in less than 48 hours.

[Auto-Destruction]

Operator! Should you find yourself in need, you may wipe all the data ever stored on your node by pressing ‘Y’ twice during the bootstrap sequence. Warning: that includes your Private-Key. Make sure to keep your private-key safe at all times.

~Forever yours,

Wizards :man_mage::mage:

Downloaded and launched but stuck at 22% sync.

@Interloper You might want to restart the software (…) few restarts might be needed (…) we’ve been working on a fix since yesterday (…) an update should be available today!
